Cool Koi

Hello God!

Thank You for the pond I am sitting around enjoying sparkling games of multicolored koi fishes. Sachi’s paintings show you the pictures I am having in my eyes right now in a very beautiful and fascinating manner.

Today’s story is from Japan. It is about cool koi who decided to swim upstream to attain enlightenment and was transformed into a flying dragon.

Pond

A long time ago, the water of the blue river that flowed from the sky, and the golden river that flowed from the land were separated by the legendary Dragon’s Gate.

Amongst all the inhabitants of their water, the Koi family were the most beautiful of all, gleaming in the sunlight like brilliant stars. The black one was father Koi, the blue one was mother Koi, and their little son was a remarkable deep red colour.

What the little Koi fish wanted more than anything was to reach the waters of the blue river. He began to swim upstream against the current. The other fish felt discouraged and thought it would be easier to swim with the current and didn’t trouble themselves to find out what was beyond the waterfall because the gods set traps to trick them.

But our brave cool Koi kept on swimming upstream. He was so tired but not for a moment did he feel like giving up.

When the Koi had summoned all his strength for one last jump, the God of the Waters called out to the waves and the fish’s jump raised him up to the summit, allowing him to cross to the other side of the Dragon’s Gate and reach the water of the blue river.

So it was that, because he never give up, the Koi was able to jump over to the other side of the Dragon’s Gate where he disappeared into the fog and emerged as a beautiful dragon.

You see the story in this one minute animation.

Thank you for your beautiful company. We are happily sharing this very moment and floating freely in the river of life. As Cool Koi we have strength, courage and perseverance to go against the current and overcome difficulties.

Happy Monday!

Dancing Ocean

Hello God!

Thank You for Monday. A working week begins and I suggest to warm up our brain by a kids riddle.

Who swims in the water, but isn’t a fish?

Who whistles and chirps, but isn’t a bird?

Who loves to jump, but isn’t a frog?

Who makes the Ocean dance, but isn’t God?

Happiness of Spirit

It is not difficult, is it? Meganne Forbes, the painter, creates unique portraits of our friends – dolphins.

Did you know that India’s Ministry of Environment and Forests has officially recognized dolphins as non-human persons, whose rights to life and liberty must be respected. Dolphinariums are banned in India!

Dr Thomas White, an ethics expert, said: “The similarities between cetaceans (marine mammals) and humans are such that they, as we, have an individual sense of self. The science has shown that individuality, consciousness, self awareness is no longer a unique human property.”

So if dolphins are persons we should use “he” or “she” instead of “it” in our describing.

Child of Happiness

Dolphins dance in two elements.

They must live in both – water and air.

They must dance by pair

Expressing their feelings,

Catching the moment

To begin a new life!

We live in the same Ocean

Making the Ocean dance.

Kindness, Openness, Warmness,

The music of our hearts

We are all dancing by.

I highly recommend to watch the animation you see below. I love “Girl and Dolphin” from my early childhood. You will touch my heart and newly born emotion makes our Ocean dance!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdW0zxj1TfI

We watch in awe, every time, never tiring of the spectacle.

Dolphins dance and we learn how to live in the Dancing Ocean.

Lilac Legends

Hello God!

Thank You for the huge vase of lavender and deep purple lilacs standing on the table near my computer where I am writing to you. I have chosen these spring paintings by Ekaterina Grebenkina to visualize the vase.

With the lilac’s dazzling scent and tender touching of tiny flowers on my face Lilac legends are for today…

Lilacs

The English common name “lilac” is from the French lilac. The Latin word for lilac is syringa. The genus name Syringa is derived from Greek “syrinx”, meaning a hollow tube or pipe.

According to Greek mythology Syrinx was a Naiad Nymph of the River Ladon in Arkadia in southern Greece.

Pan and Syrix

Sad love story we see on this painting “Pan et Syrix” by French painter Edmund Dulac.

As told by the Roman poet Ovid in the Metamorphoses, the lusty satyr Pan eagerly pursued the wood nymph Syrinx. Guarding her virtue, she ran until she reached a river and desperately begged her sisters of the stream to transform her. Just as Pan was about to embrace her, Syrinx changed into a lilac, also called a reed-tree or pipe-tree.

When Pan discovered that he was holding nothing but a tiny lilac flowers, he sighed in disappointment, causing the wind to blow through its. He was enchanted by the sound, believing it to be the mournful cry of his beloved Syrinx. He fashioned a set of pipes so that he could have her with him always…

Vase with Lilacs

Another legend tells how the lilac flowers came into being when Spring drove away snow from the fields and raised the sun higher –  a rainbow appeared. Spring then gathered sunbeams and rainbow colors and scattered them to Earth. Where white and violet colors fell, small fragrant pale lavender flower bushes appeared. In other places where white colors fell, there were white lilac bushes.

Lilac brings enchantment and faithfulness to us. Let’s enjoy lilac blooming and legends with romantic Rahmanihoff!

Thank You very much for sharing with me this fantastic lilac experience and knowledge. This very moment when I am feeling your beautiful and smiling eyes is inspiring and promising. We are blooming together as lilac bushes.

Thank You, Granny!

Hello God!

Thank You for my Granny. Her name is Nadezhda and she is 87 y.o. “Nadezhda” means hope. And today, in Victory Day, I am kneeling to my grandmother to say “Thank You, Granny!”

Thank You, Granny

On 9 May 2015 we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the capitulation of Nazi Germany in 1945. The Victory Day Parade marks Victory in the Second World War at the Eastern Front, on the same day as the signing of the German act of capitulation to the Allies in Berlin, at midnight of May 9, 1945.

Tree of Life

My grandmother is the keeper of the tree of my family’s life. This idea is inspiring for my daughter and she has painted the picture as a present to her grand-grand mother on Victory Day.

1945

In 1945 my grandmother was 17 y.o. She is a child of the war…

Because of her tears the roots of our tree are kept alive.

2015

Thank You, dear Granny, for Peace and this beautiful May we are living in now. Thank You, Granny, for blooming flowers in your garden we are nurturing with love from our hearts. Thank You, dear Granny, for the gift of hope we are inheriting from You.

Our way is clear and happy.

We see the war in a movies…

Vera Stracciatella!

Hello God!

Thank You for my cone of stracciatella I am licking now! As for me and it has deep roots from my childhood true Spring begins from a cone of ice-cream without a threat of laryngitis.

Vanilla ice cream with small, delicious shreds of dark chocolate – mmmm, it is mouthwatering. With this epitome of perfect taste I am happy to invite you in Bergamo, Northern Italy, where the door to the single place where you can try original taste of Stracciatella Gelato opens!

Stracciatella

Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream, derived from the Latin word “gelātus” (meaning frozen). What differentiates gelato from ice cream is its dense, yet super creamy texture. This is mainly the result of two things: gelato is churned so that very little air is incorporated, so it’s less fluffy than ice cream; two, gelato at the gelaterias is stored at a higher temperature than most ice cream, so even though its dense it doesn’t freeze solid – like many ice creams left too long in the freezer.

La Marianna

The story of Stracciatella Gelato begins here on Largo Colle aperto 2/4, Bergamo, in cafe “La Marianna”. Please, come in and seat at the table you like.

“La Marianna” is a strong family-run business, and in Italy it means that father has unlimited power to involve his children to help than to live by the business. Enrico Panattoni, the youngest son, was responsible for stirring eggs in the soup-like dish called “Stracciatella”. “Stracciare” means “to shred” or “to tear up” in Italian and, indeed, that is how the soup looks after stirring some beaten eggs with some cheese in a good chicken broth.

Gelateria

The soup was the main dish in the menu of “La Marianna” in 60’s. The cafe was mecca for “Stracciatella” soup. But Enrico Panattoni was sad – every customer wanted to eat only the soup.

“It seems I have to stir eggs for the end of my life” he thinks even not asking a new client what he or she would like to order. Enrico was sure all clients want to eat this damn soup!

Ice Cream House

It happened in April in 1961. A girl had changed everything! This girl in a silk vanilla color blouse and dark chocolate-brown skirt in soft cream suede ballerina shoes opened “La Marianna”s door and Miracle had smiled to Enrico! He floated in her eyes and he knew she would not order the soup. She would order something different. “I would like, mmm, I want, I will, ge-la-to. Yeas, I would like a cone of gelato” the girl made her choice.

“Tuk, tuk, tuk – I hear every beat of my heart” Enrico happily noticed. “My dream, my old dream is on the way to its realization. Today I am going to present my creation. This girl will try my Stracciatella Gelato!”

Spring Cream

After various and repeated experiments in tight secret from father, Enrico Panattoni created a particular gelato. His method of “drizzling in” melted chocolate creates the characteristic shreds – when melted chocolate hits the cold vanilla ice cream base it immediately hardens and breaks into small, brittle shreds – which are dispersed throughout the ice cream during the churning. The melted chocolate just remember the egg congeals into the boiling broth of the soup “Stracciatella”.

“You have to give a name to this delight and then … why not call it as one of the most popular dish of the restaurant “La Marianna”, “Stracciatella”?” happy Enrico had just prepared the cone of his creation to the girl.

Happy Cream

The girl was beautiful. April tender breeze was playing in her hairs and her lips had touched the cone of gelato – Enrico’s creation! Do you know what happened with the girl and Enrico? For romantic Italian boy the lips which tried his creation at the first time became the single lips he kissed every day in their happy marriage.

Enrico Panattoni held tightly the original recipe, which is still a family secret – no patent, no copyright, people arrive to “La Marianna” to try “Vera Stracciatella”!

Stracciatella Gelato prepared according to the original recipe here. That Stracciatella which is still produced with vertical machines (the famous Carpigiani L40 with tinned copper bell and wet brine) with simple ingredients such as fresh milk, egg yolks, sugar, cream, gelatin and alginate sodium as a stabilizer. Chocolate coverage today is the Lindt dark chocolate with 58% cocoa.

I strongly recommend to buy a cone of Stracciatella Gelato in the nearest gelateria. You will understand what I am telling here about. Thank You for your pleasure!

Happy gelato weekend!

April Fish!

Hello God!

Thank You for the 1st day of April. I invite you to celebrate today in charming French custom concerning this holiday.

AprilFish

The story goes that in 1564, King Charles IX of France passed the Edict of Roussillon, decreeing that henceforth the year would begin on January 1, instead of April 1. But some people failed to hear about the change and continued to celebrate the New Year on April 1. Therefore, people played pranks on them, making them April fools.

LoveApril

In France the fish is the primary symbol of April Fool’s Day. The association with fish is a bit enigmatic, but likely has its origin in the plentitude of young and easy-to-capture fish found in their rivers in April.

1erAvril

During that time, the 1st of April coincided with the end of Lent when the Church forbade Christians to eat meat. Fish was tolerated and was often used in the offering of gifts for the New Year.

1avril

Ha, ha, ha “April Fish!” I have tagged a paper fish on your back and we are happily laughing with French children and adults who are tricking each other in the same way.

HappyFishes

Undrinkable juice I have prepared by adding gelatine,

I caramelised an onions instead of an apples,

I added green colour in the pack of milk,

Today is April Fish Day! Let’s celebrate!

TenderApril

You know to see happy laughing eyes of my family and friends is the greatest happiness I can imagine and wish for myself and for you!

I invite you to share our today’s laughing by watching The Cat Concerto. Jerry is the Master of a pranks!

Happy April Fish/Fool’s Day!

Metamorphosis of Dr. Snail

Hello God!

Thank You for miraculous metamorphosis we are in every moment of our being. Today we have a wonderful possibility to observe a fascinating transformation of my friend Lilith Snail. Vivid pictures by Josees Cofet  animate my story.

The old botanical book

Lilith Snail is an intellectual woman. She is well educated. Two University diplomas and Doctor’s Degree in Biology prove that she is typically bluestocking. She spends her life in a libraries and laboratories. At this very moment she is writing an article about pollination for a serious scientific conference. Big intellectual boss is waiting for her thesis.

I tell you his secret – he likes Lilith but he thinks she is so far from any “likes” and “loves”. He frightens. And he is her boss. Big intellectual boss can not afford banal romance with Doctor in (what the horror!) a working place.

Pollination

She writes: “Pollination is the process by which pollen is transferred from the anther (male part) to the stigma (female part) of the plant, thereby enabling fertilization and reproduction. This takes place in the angiosperms, the flower bearing plants…” And tears are rolling down on her notebook. What does scientific society know about pollination? What does He know about the subject?

Love

“The Kiss is the Big Bang! We are all here because of the kiss” she is writing in the article. Her heart are ready to jump out from her chest but she wants, she desires Him to know about her feelings. “Oh, I am real bluestocking, I have completely forgot about Valentine’s Day! It is tomorrow! My article is Valentine’s card to him” she is in agitation. “It is diplomatic and intellectual way to open my heart. And it is absolutely safe, in every case I can say innocently “it is just a joke”. Thank you, Saint Valentinius, for this opportunity!” she is falling asleep in a happy dreams about their happy love.

Metamorphosis of a snail

Lilith is in bloom now. Their love story will begin tomorrow. Fascinating metamorphosis of Dr. Snail has happened.

You know I am going to send my Valentine’s card to my love. I do hope you are writing a poem on a heart-shaped card now. Saint Valentine promises the Metamorphosis to all of us.

By the the way, metamorphosis, in biology, striking change of form or structure in an individual after hatching or birth. We were born, we were born because of the Kiss! Do you remember?

Happy Valentine’s Day!

La Habanera

Hello God!

Thank You for Carmen. By Your Great Inspiration Prosper Merimee had created Carmen on the paper and Georges Biset had inhaled the Soul to her! What’s the brilliance of melody, harmony, atmosphere and orchestration! Carmen is a rare rose, she breathes with every drops of the rain of Love, true Love she exists because of.

Carmen lives in Seville. And you know the International Flamenco Fashion Show has opened there. You are lucky if you are in Seville until 8 February – you can see this fantastic show.

La Habanera is for today!

Models present creations from Vicky Martin Berrocal during the International Flamenco Fashion Show in Seville

When will I love you?
My Lord, I don’t know,
Maybe never, maybe tomorrow.
But not today, that’s for sure.

Siviglia, le sfilate dell'International Flamenco Fashion Show

Love is a rebellious bird
That none can tame,
And it is well in vain that one calls it
If it suits him to refuse
Nothing to be done, threat or prayer.
The one talks well, the other is silent;
And it’s the other that I prefer
He says nothing but he pleases me.

Siviglia, le sfilate dell'International Flamenco Fashion Show

Love! Love! Love! Love!

Love is a gypsy’s child,
It has never, never known the law;
If you do not love me, I love you;
If I love you, take guard yourself!

Passion

The bird you hoped to catch
Beat its wings and flew away …
Love is far, you can wait for it
You no longer await it, there it is.

All around you, swift, swift,
It comes, goes, then it returns …
You think to hold it fast, it flees you
You think to flee it, it holds you.

Siviglia, le sfilate dell'International Flamenco Fashion Show

Love! Love! Love! Love!

Love is a gypsy’s child,
It has never, ever, known a law;
Love me not, then I love you;
If I love you, you’d best beware!
