Covid-19 is Baobab

Hello God!

Thank You for my healthy lungs. At this moment I am breathing full and freely. But I do not know how I will breathe tomorrow. How will breathe my family, my friends, my planet at the next moment? I need to do something to help You, despite maniacally washing my hands and checking the body temperature of my family.

“Merci, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry,” I have inspired, “Merci for the idea!”. For overcoming my fear – I am transforming it in the Baobab. Covid-19 is the Baobab. Baobab is gobbling beautiful dolce vita, Baobab is dancing dead flamenco, Baobab is crunching Big Apple. We all are living in the catastrophe of the baobab.

Coronavirus-David-Goodsell

“Before they grow so big, the baobabs start out by being little,” I am reading in “The Little Prince”. Biologist David Goodsell has been painting “Molecular Landscapes” watercolor interpretations of the microscopic goings-on in cells. You see, his coronavirus painting depicts a virus as it enters the lungs.

It looks like a flower. My fear is transforming into a flower? Strange but nice feeling, I see my fear in its face. The Baobab is microscopic, our lungs are fragile and we can predict nothing but the microscopic seed of the fear of the Baobab we “must destroy it as soon as possible, the very first instant that one recognizes it,” Little Prince advises.

Little prince

“Now there were some terrible seeds on the planet that was the home of the little prince; and these were the seeds of the baobab. The soil of that planet was infested with them. A baobab is something you will never, never be able to get rid of if you attend to it too late. It spreads over the entire planet.

And if the planet is too small, and the baobabs are too many, they split it in pieces . . .”Happy lungs

“It is a question of discipline,” the little prince reminds. The golden rule we all know by heart is “When you’ve finished your own toilet in the morning, then it is time to attend to the toilet of your planet, just so, with the greatest care.” With the greatest care we should clean the fear from our minds, because with the power of our minds we allow to our lungs to bloom beautifully free from the baobab.

“You must see to it that you pull up regularly all the baobabs, at the very first moment when they can be distinguished from the rosebushes.” Little Prince knows how to save us and our planet.

Do you afraid the baobab? You know what to do, see the golden rule above and watch this film.

Thank You for your fearless breath. You are brave, strong and beautiful.

Easter Muse

Hello God!

Thank You for Easter we are celebrating today!

I am blessed by a possibility to invite you to Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice where I have found the Muse Polyhymnia! The Muse inspires us to write and sing a Hymn to Easter! Hymn to Life! La Polimnia.JPG Polyhymnia – greek “the one of many hymns”, also spelt Polymnia. Muse Polymnia is the creation by Italian sculpture  Antonio Canova.

“The most heavenly serenity and calm to be fond in the face of this statue, the elegant and youthful forms of which are united to an overall majesty that is fitting for a Muse”, writes Leopoldo Cicognara in Lettera Sulla Musa Polimnia

La Muse.jpg

“Polyhymnia is on a hinge where she turns with the breath of air that blows when a windows is opened, and the pressure of the little finger of a damsel produces a marvelous effect”.

The effect is in the lifting of the energy to live and to create, celebrating Easter in a happy new way. We are inspired by beautiful Muse.

Polyhymnia

And my heart is singing the Hymn!

All creatures of our God and King,
lift up your voice and with us sing
alleluia, alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
thou silver moon with softer gleam,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Table.JPG

A writer of hymns is known as a hymnodist. We are all a hymnodists now. Inspired by Polyhymnia let’s go at the table with a pen in a hands or with harp, lyre and lute. We are creating the Life in an infinite ways.

And you now “It should be simple and metrical in form, genuinely emotional, poetic and literary in style, spiritual in quality, and in its ideas so direct and so immediately apparent as to unify a congregation while singing it”.

Happy Easter! May the Muse Polymnia inspires You for Today and always!

George and Katya

Hello God!

Thank You for Valentine’s Day.

A beautiful song by Russian bard Juilii Maitus and poet Evgenii Breitigam “On the Sleigh” is for your loving ears. The painting by Ludwig Blume Siebert is for your loving eyes. And my translation is for your loving smiles.

George And Katya.jpg

George and Katya were amusing by themselves in the winter time.
On the sleigh they were riding from the icy big mountain.
And when the sleigh was dashingly flying, scraping through the snow,
George had whispered her quickly: “Katya, I love you.”

Katya was terribly confused and did not know how to be,
Maybe it is seemed so, because the wind could make a joke.
And she had told him timidly without looking in his eyes:
“I would like to ride this slide again…”

The cake.jpeg

Oh, by the way, I have found this cake in the grocery story “Eliseevski” in Saint Petersburg for our special occasion. Please take a piece and enjoy a continuation of the story.

We all need be happy and have fun in winter time…
Once again the couple began to descend from the icy big mountain.
And when the sleigh had dashingly flew down, the moment came,
George had quietly kissed Katya.

Katya had again confused, could not understand
Maybe – she thought so, the wind had howled again.
And she had timidly told him without looking in his eyes:
“I would like to ride this slide again.”

And when the sledge had dashingly flew down again as an arrow,
George had whispered her quietly: “Katya, be my wife.”
Katya was not confused and the wind was silent,
She had blushed and laughed and said: “Ok.”

Thank You for your beautiful ears, eyes and smiles. I live for them and I love you!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Snowflake Anna

Hello God!

Thank You for Now. I am celebrating the moment with a cup of tea and beautiful and light dessert Pavlova.

It is snowing and looking through the window is a great pleasure. The scene behind the glass is as in the Bolshoi Theatre, where ballerinas are snowflakes. Oh, I see the snowflake – prima ballerina Anna Pavlova. How she is beautiful! How she is light!

Snowflake Anna.jpg

With the paintings by Anastasia Vostrezova and my photos of the dessert I am sharing with you what my thoughts and feelings are about now.

Anna Pavlova says: “Somewhere in every one of us, no matter how deep it may be hidden, is a latent germ of beauty… We dance because this germ of beauty demands such expression, and the more we give it outlet the more we encourage our own instinct for graceful forms.”

Snowflakes have a graceful forms. Dessert Pavlova is the baked graceful form on the plate.

Pavlova.JPG

This airy dessert made from crisp meringue shell topped with whipped cream and fruit. The story said that the dessert was created by the chef in Wellington, New Zeland when Pavlova visited there in 1926 on her world tour. Australians claim that they created Pavlova dessert.

snowflake-anna.jpg

Obviously “People have been doing meringue with cream for a long time, I don’t think Australia or New Zealand were the first to think of doing that” I agree with a restaurant critic Matthew Evans. But Anna Pavlova was a superstar adored by all the world. As a result, a lot of chefs named their dishes after her.

Anna inspires: “I have realized that true art gives joy not only to the artist but also to the people, suspending them for a moment from life’s sorrows. In this I see the great significance of art, and the awareness of this became the aim of my life.”

Ballerina Dessert.JPG

Sweet, crunchy, and meltingly soft the dessert mimics her tutu with light-as-air fluffiness! The outside is crispy and the middle is soft like a marshmallow…

Oh, really I am on the heaven of taste immersed in the clouds of thousands of snowflakes dancing in the sky. The ballet I am watching is mesmerizing, the moment I am living is sparkling.

MIracle.jpeg

Snowflake Anna has silently landed on my shoulder and whispered: “Happiness is like a butterfly which appears and delights us for one brief moment, but soon flits away.”

Anna Pavlova dances “California Poppy” – watching Beaty makes being beautiful.

Thank You very much for sharing with me your precious moment of your life. I do hope you are just a little bit happier now as I am.

Contre Le Vent

Hello God!

Thank You for the Wind and the Sea. I invite you to severe November Curonian Spit, where the wind tells the truth about his nature and the sea opens a new dimension of  the storm. And a hero’s journey begins.

“Follow Your Bliss” – Sol-sol-sol-me flat!  “Contre Le Vent” (or Against the Wind in English) – Fa-fa-fa-re now I am singing the 5th Symphony by Beethoven.

“Follow Your Bliss” was the motto of Joseph Campbell. And by my opinion he knows everything about hero’s journey.

BalticMan.jpeg

“Contre Le Vent” (Against the Wind) sculpture is about a hero’s journey. You can found it in Lithuania, Curonian Spit sand dunes.

Joseph Campbell said that the great life is, basically, one hero’s journey after another. Follow Your Bliss – Contre Le Vent, then again Follow your Bliss – Against The Wind, and again until the end. It is the Destine’s Theme from the 5th Symphony:Destiny theme.png

SevereFace.jpeg Joseph Campbell writes: “Over and over again, you are called to the realm of adventure, you are called to new horizons. Each time, there is the same problem: do I dare? And then if you do dare, the dangers are there, and the help also, and the fulfillment or the fiasco. There’s always the possibility of a fiasco. But there’s also the possibility of bliss.”

I see a really strong man in the sculpture. He must be very courageous, as Beethoven, to follow his bless, against the North Baltic wind.

StrongLegs.jpeg

Joseph Campbell inspires: “What is it we are questing for? It is the fulfillment of that which is potential in each of us. Questing for it is not an ego trip; it is an adventure to bring into fulfillment your gift to the world, which is yourself. There is nothing you can do that’s more important than being fulfilled. You become a sign, you become a signal, transparent to transcendence; in this way you will find, live, become a realization of your own personal myth.”

Do you accept right now that you are the gift to the world? I dare to become a sign and a signal for you. We need to be a beacons for each other and go and live our hero’s journey.

I can!.jpeg

The sculpture seems to be alone. But it has his creator, it inspires. I had a long journey to see it. The Destiny’s theme from the 5th Symphony I had felt its pulse there. And this Pulse, this vibration of the Sculpture make me believe to Joseph Campbell – we are never alone, in every myth we live there are a helpers, a magicians, a wizards.

Beethoven’s 5 Secrets are for you for today!

Follow Your Bliss – Against The Wind! Follow Your Bliss – Contre Le Vent  – in French way it will be easier, I know. Love your smiling eyes.

Angel of Violets

Hello God!

Thank You for my Angel of Violets who lives in the pod of violets on the windowsill of my kitchen. I am drinking a cup of coffee and he begins to speak with me.

“My dear friend! Do you know that the tender flowers you see are the symbols of rising above challenges? By the way, despite you often forget watering its, violets thrive in the toughest conditions. And now you are observing the miracle: In all beginnings dwells a magic force for guarding us and helping us to live” smiling Angel whispers.

Angel of Violets.JPG

“Why are you so sad? Why did you forgеt that you are the luckiest person in the world because you can speak with me, Angel of Violets? You know Hermann Hesse and Johann Sebastian Bach had such ability to speak with me and they will help you to understand how to transform your sadness to happiness. Listen attentively!” the Angel inspires and sings the poem “Stages” by Herman Hesse.

Waiting for blooming.JPG

As every flower fades and as all youth
Departs, so life at every stage,
So every virtue, so our grasp of truth,
Blooms in its day and may not last forever.

Since life may summon us at every age
Be ready, heart, for parting, new endeavor,
Be ready bravely and without remorse
To find new light that old ties cannot give.Full Blooming.JPG

In all beginnings dwells a magic force
For guarding us and helping us to live.

Serenely let us move to distant places
And let no sentiments of home detain us.
The Cosmic Spirit seeks not to restrain us
But lifts us stage by stage to wider spaces…

“I am the Cosmic Spirit living in your kitchen, in the pod of violets. For today and your new beginning inspire, sing and play Bach’s genius joke, and live and love your Way” my Angel smiles.

You know we are all gifted and blessed to see and speak with angels. And they are always near us and we need just to clear our eyes and see the wonderful miraculous reality we all live in. Thank You, my Angel of Violets for opening my eyes, thank You for Hesse and Bach.

Speaking with an angel, drinking coffee, listening Bach – what’s the beautiful beginning! What’s the happiest Monday! Wish You the same, my dear friend!

August Hedonist

Hello God!

Thank You for August-Hedonist.

And Thank You for this happy possibility to write these words I was struggling for them with the enemy of self-critisim and guilty. I had sat down at the desk, opened this page with intention to write something – and checking gmail, surfing Dailymail and etc. were hugging my creative essence. I had felt a bitter aftertaste when days by days spending with a celebrities gossips and aliexpress things I closed an empty page in Glorialana.

Angel Of July.jpg

My dear friend, the Angel is awaking me up. Vladimir Rumyantsev, the painter, by his tender brush has drawn my creative vulnerable essence as a cat with yellow eyes hiding under the chamomile umbrella.  I am afraid, yes, I am afraid, because my inner self-critic prevents me to see you. But Your Love and light is stronger I see in your eyes and I remember how I love your eyes, how I love your smile. You are important for me because I feel that I can enlighten your world. Perhaps it sounds a little grandiloquently  – I live because of You.

Because of You I have find a new motto for Glorialana Magazine – “Romanticizing The World” inspiring by German poet and philosopher Novalis “To romanticize the world is to make aware of the magic, mystery and wonder of the world; it is to educate the senses to see the ordinary as extraordinary, the familiar as strange, the mundane as sacred, the finite as infinite.” Beautiful aim, task and motivation to wake up and to write for You.

Summer Pleasures.jpg

“Darling, wake up, please. Today is the 11th of August. Are you going to sleep whole summer?”, tender voice of the Angel is whispering. “Are you going to sleep and miss the symphony of berries, apples, pears and poetic picnics with you love? When are you going to enjoy my company? Life is short and happiness is subtle. Please wake up the world is waiting!” I has woke up and opened my eyes happily feeling your breath.

Gastronomist

We live this August – Hedonist. Hedonist comes from the Greek word hedone “pleasure” and is related to hedys, which means “sweet”. And you know referring the topic of hedonism I have found a brilliant book “A Hedonist Manifesto: The Power to Exist” by Michel Onfray.

“Enjoy and have others enjoy, without doing harm to yourself or anyone else”, Michel defines hedonism. In these simple words the philosophy of my life is packed.

Gourmet

In hedonistic style we are celebrating my awakening enjoying Summer Berry and Champagne Soup with Floating Islands Gordon Ramsay has blended for us.

Thank You for You. Because of You I grow and glow. Because of You I have found the meaning of my writing here – “Romanticize the Word and Enjoy and Have Others Enjoy, without doing harm to yourself or anyone else.”

Enjoy Summer! Enjoy August-Hedonist!

Maslenitsa Mystery

Hello God!

Thank You for Maslenitsa!

We are celebrating this sun-festival during the last week before Great Lent and the most characteristic food of Maslenitsa is bliniGolden pancakes symbolize the sun, helping to warm the frozen earth, and by eating them, we receive a piece of its warmth and protection from evil.

This beautiful girl embodies Maslenitsa Mystery which Anton Chekhov describes in his “Blini”. And turning on the other side of my blin I am reading:

“Did you know that blini have been around for more than a thousand years, from the old, so-called Slavonic ab ovo – Latin, “from the egg”? They came into the light prior to Russian history, experienced it all from the beginning to the last page, and there is no doubt that, like the Samovar, they were thought up by a Russian mind.”

Pancakes dress.jpg

“It is sad to think that these delicious circles of dough serve only narrow culinary and gastronomic purposes. …As for me, I am almost certain that the ever-talking old blini, in addition to being cooked and eaten, have other goals. Aside for heavy, indigestible dough, in them is hidden something higher, more symbolic, perhaps even prophetic… but what?

It is and remains a deep, impenetrable female mystery, which is as difficult to solve, as it is to get a bear to laugh. Yes, blini, their meaning and purpose – this is a female mystery, a mystery which man will not soon uncover. …

Since prehistoric times, Russian woman watches over this sacred secret, passing it from generation to generation, through none other than her daughters and granddaughters.”

Barbi in Pankakes.jpg

Barbie in the pancakes dress is the result of Maslenitsa Mystery.

“How are blini made? It is unknown. Only the distant future will know. We must, without thought or question, eat what we are served. This is a mystery!

I do not know what the process of making blini consists of, but mystery and gravity, with which the woman has furnished this rite, are somewhat familiar to me. There is a lot here that is mystical, fantastical and even spiritual. Seeing a woman baking blini, one might think that she’s summoning spirits or extracting dough from the philosopher’s stone”.

For today I suggest you to cook blini and, perhaps, Maslenitsa Mystery will be open to you.

Thank you for your pancakes. They are so delicious and I am feeling the light of your hands and heart fulfilling my essence with Maslenitsa Mystery.

Valentine’s Wheel

Hello God!

Thank You for Valentine!

Millions of emotions Valentine brings in our relationship and we are all go through the colorful wheel of feelings when we are in love. Sometimes it is exciting, sometimes it is disgusting. I am grateful for Dr. Robert Plutchik who created a wheel of emotions.

Wheel of Emotions.jpg

Robert Plutchik suggested 8 primary bipolar emotions: joy versus sadness; anger versus fear; trust versus disgust; and surprise versus anticipation. Additionally, his circumplex model makes connections between the idea of an emotion circle and a color wheel. Like colors, primary emotions can be expressed at different intensities and can mix with one another to form different emotions.

Emotions.jpg

Augustina Guerrero illustrates what exactly I feel after we have some arguments about our different approaches to something, anything. Ha-Ha!

Fear → feeling of being afraid he will never ever forever know what I feel.

Anger → feeling angry of his silence.

Sadness → feeling sad – my husband does not understand my tears.

Disgust → feeling something is wrong or nasty, of course, I am tired and you, my husband, have no idea how. Sure, many women understand what I am talking about.

Joy → feeling happy. I am happy because you kiss and hug me when you return home every evening.

Surprise → I love being unprepared for your invitation to a concert and a glass of champagne after it.

Trust → When we closed the heart-shaped lock in Paris and the key was thrown to Seine many years ago I trusted to you all my life with all my complexity of emotions and reactions and I accepted your life with all your breathes and every beats of your pulse. And you know our differences are nothing because of endless Love between us.

Anticipation → the sense of looking forward our Valentine’s tonight with candles, roses and Moonlight Sonata is super inspiring. Because of this sense you are smiling and reading my words.

“Letting go, letting go
Telling you things you already know
I explode, I explode
Asking you where you want us to go”  –  I am singing with Melanie Martinez knowing that Valentine leads us to love each other.

Thank you for sharing with me the Valentine’s Wheel. And you know what, despite we are all different, if your heart happily sings with the other in unison – forgive an unimportant things faster and easier and remember about Love.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
