Requiem for 50

Hello God!

Thank You for Your Infinite Belief in us, humans. And sorry for our short memory.

The Breivik’s lesson was not fully learnt. We had had another one in New Zealand. The price is 50 innocent lives taken in the moment of praying.

The Requiem is for 50 lives and it does not matter that they were at the mosque.

We are humans.JPG“What are we doing, humans?”, I am reading our desperation in the sculpture by Jose Cobo.

It is hard to understand but the killer was growing among us. He is a product of Western education which is based on the best humanitarian ideas. I am almost sure that his grandmother had sang him a lullabies and they were in a church at Sundays. He lived in a good house and worked as a personal coach in a fitness-club. Good middle class life he had. What was the trigger for him to became white “supremasist” and kill people? The paranoid desire to be great, celebrity? Had millions likes on social media page?

We are desperate because we will never know the answers.

Steps to grow.JPG

The photo, Calvari Steps in Pollensa, Majorca, visualizes the way we should climb up together overcoming desperation and pain. With the burning candles by the accords of Lacrimosa dies illa  – “This tearful day” we are ascending the stairs of mourning to the stairs of feelings of humanity, wisdom of understanding, virtue of accepting.

With great music we are uniting our beating of hearts. Laa-cri-mo-sa – we are singing together.

To watch the video is difficult because of pain but a new lesson we need to learn.

Tomorrow morning in a crowded metro we will help to a mother in hidjab with a pram,  we will buy this strange kebab with our habitual cup from Starbucks. We will be surprise by a grateful smile of a woman and we will feel a new taste of unknown, but delicious now, kebab. And by baby’s steps we will stop growing up a killers and any kind of “supremasist”.

Samuel Huntington was not right. There are no Western, Orthodox, Islamic and etc. civilizations. We are Humans Civilization.

Lacrimosa dies illa
Qua resurget ex favilla
Judicandus homo reus.
Huic ergo parce, Deus:
Pie Jesu Domine,
Dona eis requiem. Amen.

  1. The Mozart combined with the image of steps where you wrote, “The photo, Calvari Steps in Pollensa, Majorca, visualizes the way we should climb up together overcoming desperation and pain,” helped me mourn in this collective sadness and confusion. Thank you.
