Beautiful Music

Hello God!

Thank You for classical music my soul always dances by.“Music is, to me, proof of the existence of God. It is so extraordinarily full of magic, and in tough times of my life I can listen to music and it makes such a difference.” My heart is applauding to Kurt Vonnegut for these words, because the quote is the best to describe my admiration of music, classical music.

Music really makes a difference. I am lucky to find these fruits from Musical Tree by artist Erika Iris Simmons that she calls Paperworks. Erica meticulously cuts out musical notes and pastes them back together in stunning portraits, patterns, and shapes in her attempt to “visualize the transcendence felt in beautiful music.” I absolutely love how the sheet music comes alive as the figures move, play, and rise off the pages.

Serenade

Harmony

I suppose music is the only place

For scales of love,

Where major and minor

Work well side by side.

Where notes of varying degrees congregate

To make melodious sounds.

Beethoven

I suppose music is the only language

Understood universally,

Where endless combinations of notes,

Equal of diverse, sustained or depressed,

Amalgamate, to trigger all emotions.

Balerina

It would take little effort to

strike a chord with one another.

Thank you for sharing with me this musical moment. We were born to make a difference. Music helps us. Have a happy and musical week!

  1. lovely post!
Do you know these songs? I can hear music by the Beach Boys or I hear a symphony by the Supremes?

music is a universal medium that transcends all else….

  2. I absolutely agree, when I died and came back I remembered the music I heard on the other side first, it was the essence of Divine….
I still listen to it, for it seems to come back at unexpected moments….
I keep listening to so many CD’s hoping to find something similar, but no…
the pictures you shared are wonderful as well as the post….

  3. Very true! I love music too. And the fact that I have not learned classical music only increases my admiration for people like you. If possible do upload a video of your piano renditions. 🙂

      1. Thanks Glorialana. ….looking forward to the magic. By the way, I have uploaded my rendition of a Hindi song at my About page, which u might find amusing. 🙂

  4. Beautiful creations! Thank you for sharing both those images and the poem!

PS: I sent you a Facebook invite…my name is Anita Jacob there..:D

  5. I didn’t follow classical music until I was somewhere in my 30s. I envy those who start their love affair early in life. I hope to bring my three year old grandson into this world step by step…starting now. And the cutouts are magnificent!
